Goa is not just a hidden amidst the lush mangroves between the islands of Chorao and Divar and the village of Cumbarjua, the Cumbarjua Canal is home to a surprising resident, the Indian mugger crocodile. Despite their fearsome reputation, the Cumbarjua crocodiles are mostly non-aggressive and adapted to living harmoniously with the local fishing communities. The Cumbarjua Crocodile Safari offers travelers a unique chance to spot wild crocodiles basking along the muddy banks, alongside exotic birds, mangrove forests, and peaceful backwaters, making it one of Goa’s most thrilling and offbeat nature experiences in Goa.
The boat journey typically lasts for 2 hours, offering plenty of time to immerse yourself in Goa’s quieter, greener side.
This tour takes visitors on an exciting journey through the mangrove forests and wetlands of Goa, allowing them to observe both crocodiles and a variety of bird species in their own environment.
The Cambarjua canal in Goa is known for its large population of mugger crocodiles, also known as broad-snouted marsh crocodiles. The main highlight of the trip is to see the Indian Mugger crocodile up close in its natural habitat. The best time to take a crocodile trip is between November and March when the water levels are low and the crocodiles are more visible.
